Class Description:
Students will hear a variety of folktales, myths and legends from around the world. Each program will focus around a theme (for example: "Animals of the North Woods" or "Stories of the Sky and Stars"). Students will also learn why people around the world have told and still tell stories.
Total time: 50 minutes
Audience: 4th grade through adult

Outcomes
Upon completion of the Critter Tales evening program students will be able to:
- Explain the reasons why people around the world tell stories.
- Be able to relate the general plot of at least one story that they heard.
- Describe the favorite story that they heard and the lesson they learned from it.
Minnesota Graduation Standards
The Critter Tales evening program will provide students with guided practice, in an authentic setting, to support the following Graduations Standards. We have chosen one to three major focus standards per grade level. Due to the holistic nature of environmental education, several other standards, not listed here, are addressed as well.
