Campfire

Class Description:

Enjoy songs, stories, and skits around the campfire. This activity's goals can vary depending on when it occurs during a school or group's visit. It can create camaraderie among participants, act as an introduction or conclusion to a group's stay or be built around a theme for education. The content be varied depending on season, weather, group characteristics, requests of the group, etc. A school might also choose to lead their own campfire program, with the Wolf Ridge liaison providing assistance by preparing the fire and assisting as requested.

Audience: no limit, 4th grade through adult

The Campfire Program class will provide students with guided practice, in an authentic setting, to support the following Graduations Standards. We have chosen one to three “major focus” standards per grade level. Due to the holistic nature of environmental education, several other standards, not listed here, are addressed as well.
