Class Description:
The public holds many misconceptions concerning bats. This entertaining slide show presented by one of the Wolf Ridge naturalists features amazing photographs of bats from around the world as well as Minnesota's seven species. General charactersitcs of bats as well as specific behaviors will be discussed. The bats of Minnesota will be examined. Increased human awareness is the key to bat survival.

The Bats evening program will provide students with guided practice, in an authentic setting, to support the following Graduations Standards. We have chosen one to three major focus standards per grade level. Due to the holistic nature of environmental education, several other standards, not listed here, are addressed as well.
