Liability Release & Insurance Requirements
On request of our insurance company, Wolf Ridge will need to have a signed liability release from each participant (students and adults) on file. Thank you in advance for helping us to meet this new requirement. Click here for a downloadable and printable version of the Liability Release Form. We also need information about your school's insurance.
Get Your Students Weather-Ready
It's Fall on the north shore, which means cool nights (sometimes into the 30's or low 40's) and sunny 60's days, or sometimes cold fall rain. Make sure your students are packed for a variety of weather, especially for cool nights. Refer your students to "Winter at Wolf Ridge" photos and "Dressing for the Cold" to help prepare them for their winter season trip. There's some great info on how we stay warm on the Fall Happenings "jackets" page as well.
Watch the seasons change with schools across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota
This very flexible program encourages your students to go outside during school or on their own to look for signs of fall or spring, and to share them on-line with other Wolf Ridge schools. A variety of on-line pre and post-visit activites and lessons are available. See Wolf Ridge's Spring and Fall Happenings on-line curriculum.
Wolf Ridge Billing Policy for Chaperones/teachers Who Attend Only Part of Your Session:
Participants who are at Wolf Ridge part-time or who are "splitting" a visit with another adult, will be charged a flat rate of $37.00/day.
Wolf Ridge Ambassadors
Ambassadors are available to help you plan and prepare for your visit to Wolf Ridge. Ambassadors are available in the Twin cities and Duluth: however Wolf Ridge will also assist any schools located outside these metro areas,
To inquire about taking advantage of this opportunity, e-mail or call Wolf Ridge at 1-800-523-2733.
Partnership with Voight's Bus Service
Many budget demands have been put upon schools in the past few years. Wolf Ridge has been trying to find ways to assist in some way with the overall cost of the trip up north. In some ways we are able to adjust costs trying to keep any price increases to a minimum, eliminating extra costs for Owl Pellets, Block Printing, and Dream Catchers, etc.
One thing we have been unable to change is the cost of busing. Wolf Ridge simply does not have any control over those costs. However, at the end of 2002, Voigt Bus Company and Wolf Ridge developed a plan to reduce the cost of the actual trip to Wolf Ridge.
From the discussions that we have had with Voigt Bus Company, and the fine reputation they have built up, Wolf Ridge is pleased to announce these new options for reducing the cost of traveling. The first option involves the reduction of the cost Voigt Bus Company incurs for empty buses traveling back and forth to Finland, Minnesota. Depending on your hometown and the number of people in your group, significant savings can be realized. Each school is its own specific case and you should contact Lorna or Mary at Voigt Bus Company for details.
A second example involves two schools sharing the cost of a Wednesday trip when one school is arriving at Wolf Ridge and another is departing Wolf Ridge. The possibility of this trip depends on two groups having compatible schedules and similar numbers of people. Wolf Ridge would help coordinate these trips.
Voigt Bus Company is genuinely interested in becoming a part of the Wolf Ridge experience. Not only are they assisting schools reach educational goals but they have an eye to the future and the opportunities of alternative fuels.
Wolf Ridge is excited about the opportunity available to help reduce the cost of the trip to ELC; we encourage you and your school to call Lorna or Mary at Voigt Bus Company and ask about specific rates for your trip. Please call 1-800-468-6448 to learn more about the Voigt Bus Company and this partnership. Ask for Lorna or Mary.
