Youth & Families
Shared Mission to Promote Life-long Learning
Community Education groups have been coming to Wolf Ridge since the early 1980’s with great success. We are “natural” partners when it comes to educating all ages. An accredited environmental education school, we have a proven track record of providing excellent, hands on, active, and fun educational and team-building experiences.
A Variety of Customizable Options
Add diversity to your Community Education program with a community-based trip to Wolf Ridge. All of the options below can be tailored to fit the needs of your Community Education group, including staffing options and transportation as well as activities and program choice.
Community-Tailored Programs
Youth or Family Groups
Bring kids, neighbors, and/or families any time of year to our campus for 3-5 days of outdoor adventures. We’ll customize your experience to focus on community-building, personal growth, outdoor explorations, or a combination of all three. Throw in a campfire with s’mores or evening crafts to round out the fun. All meals, dorm space, and instruction, provided. Week-end or mid-week dates available. 15 person minimum.
Boundary Waters Canoe Trips
Gather a group of up to 7 students and one adult leader from your community. Wolf Ridge will organize and lead a trip to the BWCAW, providing a naturalist-guide, all group equipment, food, and time on our indoor rock wall. 2 days at Wolf Ridge plus a 5-day canoe trip.
Backpack the Superior Hiking Trail
Gather a group of up to 10 students and one adult leader from your community. Wolf Ridge will organize and lead a backpacking trip to the Superior Hiking Trail, providing a naturalist-guide, all group equipment, backpacks, food, and time on our climbing wall. 2 days at Wolf Ridge plus 5 days backpacking.
Youth Summer Camps
Create Your Camp at Wolf Ridge
Another option is to partner with us to have your own camp at Wolf Ridge. We’d love to share how other Community Education programs have had great success running their youth camps through us.
Community Kids Together
at Summer Camp
Send your community’s 4th - 12th graders to join in on the fun and friendships of Wolf Ridge’s 7-day overnight camps. In addition to adventures and challenges like our high ropes course and rock climbing, each day is filled with outdoor fun, nature exploration, teamwork, initiative and leadership skills. From swimming and games to camping in the woods and sharing stories by the campfire, children are guided through the discoveries of new friends, new challenges and new skills.
