Live, Learn, and Teach in a Community Dedicated to Experiential Environmental Education Apprentice NaturalistApprentice NaturalistsIf one year at Wolf Ridge as a naturalist just isn't enough for you, you might consider applying to be an Apprentice Naturalist. This program is designed for naturalists who have completed a year in the Naturalist Training programs. Each year 2-4 naturalists are selected to stay on for a second year. Spend this year welcoming 16 student naturalists into the community and help prepare them for a year of teaching and exploring on the North Shore. Develop leadership skills for education. Graduates of other Wolf Ridge training programs can spend a second year working alongside our program staff on authentic tasks within the field of environmental education. They design apprenticeships focusing on supervision and training, program development, animal handling, fundraising, curriculum maintenance, marketing, and more.

The doors of Wolf Ridge stood open for me to learn about any aspect of the ELC. I walked away from this experience armed with the tools I need to work in any area of environmental education. - Lynnae Fischbach
