Climate Change Awareness & Action Curriculum

This curriculum enables a teacher to provide their students with an awareness and knowledge of Climate Change, a subject that will be paramount in the lives of today's 11 and 12 year olds. In particular, schools that take the Climate Change classes at Wolf Ridge will find this a perfect pre and post curriculum to support and extend the Wolf Ridge experience far beyond a week at our site.

The Climate Change Awareness and Action framework and each individual lesson were designed using the Minnesota Academic Standards, National Science Standards, and the National Oceanic and Administration's Climate Literacy Principles. Each lesson lists the specific standards that are directly connected to the content of the lesson.

These lessons were tested by northern Minnesota teachers in their classrooms, then refined using their input. Teachers found that the curriculum is easy to follow, very effective and has a great impact on their students. In addition, the lessons were designed so that you can pick up this up and be ready to teach it in a very short time and with no significant time or money needed to find materials.
